Robyn Deane is a Dublin born, Glasgow based artist whose practice revolves around subverting the ideas of passion outside of its established middle class, institutionalised home as a working class artist. Through this questioning of passion and its preconceived definitions, Deane throws herself into research projects mainly consisting of the histories and identities of working class, queer minorities- and through this finds inspiration for her visual work; aspiring for each piece to be seen as an elaborate visual diary that displays a life of enjoyment, lust, desire, toughness; all through a range of figurative paintings, collage, writings and fine line drawings.

Deane studied at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin and has been a resident in various studios such as MART Studios, Dublin, and Jigsaw, Dublin, a community ran studio space.
